The
setting of Domaine du Merchien offers spectacular views of both
the vineyard and the beautiful surrounding rural scenery. Merchien
is a family-run vineyard that embraces the spirit of innovation:
David and Sarah enjoy experimenting with the final products, which
range from a Merchien wine, which is darkest red, and gives off
scents of red berry fruits, and is rich, tannic, robust, full-flavoured
and as it ages, develops delicate and complex aromas and floral
notes. Merchien Rosé is a beautiful, fresh, crisp and surprising
wine, it is both elegant and sophisticated, has considerable body
for a rosé, whilst still keeping plenty of fruit.
The winery combines the best of some modern techniques with traditional
wine making methods.
At Domaine Du Merchien everything is done with
patience, enthusiasm and most of all, respect for local tradition.
The vineyard has been herbicide free for the last ten years and
operates a minimal chemical policy.
David and Sarah are on a mission to make serious,
quality wines that establish Merchien’s reputation. Their
drive and creativity has meant that they are winning well-deserved
national recognition for Merchien wines.
Don't just take our word for it, if you need a recommendation, Merchien
has won many awards for it's wines:
